Link Procedures to Actions

Procedures in Zeltask provide step-by-step guidance for completing actions. When you link a procedure to an action, it appears as a checklist that technicians can follow during execution.

What Are Procedures?

Procedures are a type of template in the Templates module. They define a series of steps or checks that should be performed when completing specific types of work.

When creating an action, you can link a procedure:

Step 1: Open the action creation form

  1. Go to Actions in the left sidebar
  2. Click Create Action

Step 2: Find the procedure field

  1. In the action creation form, locate the Procedure field
  2. Click to open the dropdown

Step 3: Select a procedure

  1. Browse or search available procedures
  2. Click on the procedure you want to link
  3. The procedure is now associated with the action

Step 4: Complete the action form

Continue filling out the remaining action fields and submit.

What Happens When a Procedure Is Linked

Once a procedure is linked to an action:

  • The procedure appears as a checklist in the Action detail view
  • Technicians can follow the steps while working on the action
  • Progress through the checklist can be tracked

Where Are Procedures Created?

Procedures are created and managed in the Templates module:

  1. Go to Templates in the left sidebar
  2. Click Create Template
  3. Select Procedure as the template type
  4. Add your steps and instructions

Tips

  • Link procedures to preventive maintenance actions to ensure consistent execution
  • Keep procedure steps clear and actionable
  • Update procedures when processes change—linked actions will use the updated version
