Edit an Inspection
Modify answers on a completed inspection when corrections are needed. Managers and supervisors can edit inspections to fix errors or update responses based on new information.
Before You Start
- You need Manager or Supervisor permissions
- Operators cannot edit completed inspections — only view them
- The inspection must already be completed
Steps
Step 1: Find the inspection
- Click Inspections in the left navigation bar
- Browse the list of completed inspections
- Use search or filters to find the specific inspection
- Click on the inspection card to open the detail view

Step 2: Open edit mode
- In the inspection detail view, click Edit
- The inspection becomes editable

Step 3: Modify answers
- Navigate to the question you need to change
- Update the answer as needed
- Repeat for any other questions requiring changes
You can modify:
- Selection answers (Yes/No, single choice, multiple choice)
- Text responses
- Numeric values
- Date and time entries

Step 4: Save changes
- Review your modifications
- Click Submit to save
All changes are recorded in the inspection's activity history.
What Gets Tracked
When you edit an inspection, the system records:
- Who made the edit
- When the edit was made
- The inspection's activity history shows all modifications
This maintains traceability and accountability for audit purposes.

When to Edit an Inspection
Common reasons to edit a completed inspection:

Tips
- Add a comment explaining why you made the change for transparency
- Edit promptly when errors are discovered
- Review the activity history if you need to understand what was changed
- For significant changes, consider whether a new inspection should be conducted instead
- Maintain proper documentation practices for audit readiness
