What Are Templates?

A template is a reusable structure that defines the questions, steps, and conditions for inspections or procedures that operators execute in the field.

Why It Matters

Consistency is critical in manufacturing operations. Without standardized templates, different operators may check different things, skip steps, or document findings inconsistently. Templates ensure every inspection or procedure follows the same structure, making results comparable, auditable, and reliable.

How It Works in Zeltask

Managers and supervisors create templates in the Templates module. Each template defines:

  • Questions or steps that operators must complete
  • Response types (text, numbers, selections, photos, etc.)
  • Conditions and triggers that activate follow-up actions based on answers
  • Sections and pages to organize complex processes

When an operator executes an inspection or procedure, they work through the template structure. Their answers are recorded with full traceability, and any configured triggers (notifications, tickets, evidence requirements) activate automatically.

Templates can be versioned, edited, and improved over time while maintaining a history of changes.

Template Types

Key Points

  • Templates ensure standardized execution across all operators and shifts
  • Conditions and triggers automate follow-up actions based on responses
  • Multiple question types support diverse verification needs
  • Sections and pages organize complex inspections logically
  • Templates can be tagged for easy categorization (Safety, Maintenance, etc.)
  • Comments and version history maintain full traceability
