What Are Locations?

A location represents a physical space where operations happen. Zeltask uses locations as a reference point for inspections, actions, tickets, and asset management, helping teams know exactly where tasks need to be performed.

Why Locations Matter

Manufacturing and food & beverage operations involve many distinct areas — production floors, storage rooms, utilities spaces, and more. Centralizing location information in Zeltask provides:

  • Clear task assignment: Teams know exactly where to go
  • Operational traceability: Track what happens in each area
  • Asset organization: See all equipment installed at each location
  • Faster response: Create actions or tickets directly from a location via QR code
  • Better reporting: Filter and analyze data by area

Examples of Locations

Area TypeExample Locations

What You Can Do with Locations

Locations connect to other parts of Zeltask:

  • Assets: Assign equipment to locations to track where it's installed
  • Actions: Specify where tasks should be performed
  • Inspections: Reference locations in inspection templates
  • Tickets: Report issues tied to specific areas

Use QR Codes

Each location generates a unique QR code. When scanned:

  • Create a ticket associated with that location
  • Create an action associated with that location
  • View all assets at that location
  • Access the location's detail view

This allows teams to take action directly from the physical space.

Collaborate with Comments

Leave notes and observations on locations:

  • Document conditions or issues
  • Share information with colleagues
  • Follow conversations to receive notifications
