Create a Location
Register physical spaces in Zeltask so they can be referenced in inspections, actions, tickets, and asset management. Each location serves as a central point for organizing work in that area.
Before You Start
- You need permission to create locations
- Gather information about the space: name, description, and any relevant photos or documents
Steps
Step 1: Open the Locations module
- Click Locations in the left navigation bar
- You see cards for existing locations
- Click Create Location

Step 2: Enter the location name
- In the Name field, enter a clear, descriptive name
- Use consistent naming conventions across your organization
Examples:
- "Production Hall A"
- "Cold Storage Room 1"
- "Sanitization Area - West"

Step 3: Add a description
- In the Description field, provide additional context
- Include information that helps identify or understand the space
Examples:
- "Main production floor for bottling lines 1-3. Contains 5 filling stations."
- "Temperature-controlled storage for raw ingredients. Maintained at -18°C."

Step 4: Upload media (optional)
- In the Media section, add photos or videos
- Use images that help visually identify the location
Suggested media:
- Overview photo of the area
- Entrance or signage
- Key equipment in the space
- Safety information posted

Step 5: Attach files (optional)
- In the Files section, upload relevant documents
- Supported formats include PDF, DOC, DOCX, and others
Useful documents:
- Floor plans or layouts
- Safety procedures for the area
- Operating instructions
- Compliance documentation

Step 6: Save the location
- Review all entered information
- Click Save
The location is now available throughout Zeltask.

What Happens After Creation
- The location appears in the Locations module
- A unique QR code is generated for the location
- The location can be selected in actions, inspections, and tickets
- Assets can be assigned to this location

Tips
- Use clear, consistent naming that everyone understands
- Include enough description to distinguish similar locations
- Upload photos that show the current state of the area
- Attach safety documents for areas with specific requirements
- Create locations before assigning assets to them
- Review and update location information when changes occur
