Edit a Location

Update location information when details change, such as revised descriptions, new photos, or additional documents. Keeping location records current ensures teams have accurate information.

Before You Start

  • You need permission to edit locations
  • Open the location you want to modify

Steps

Step 1: Open the location

  1. Click Locations in the left navigation bar
  2. Find and select the location you want to edit
  3. The location's detail view opens

Step 2: Enter edit mode

  1. Click Edit in the detail view
  2. The location fields become editable

Step 3: Update information

Modify any fields as needed:

Step 4: Save changes

  1. Review your updates
  2. Click Submit
  3. Changes are saved immediately

Common Editing Scenarios

Updating Description

When the space changes or more detail is needed:

  1. Edit the location
  2. Update the Description field with current information
  3. Submit

Adding New Photos

When you have better images or conditions have changed:

  1. Edit the location
  2. In the Media section, upload new photos
  3. Remove outdated photos if needed
  4. Submit

Attaching New Documents

When new procedures or floor plans are available:

  1. Edit the location
  2. In the Files section, upload new documents
  3. Remove outdated documents if applicable
  4. Submit

Renaming a Location

When naming conventions change:

  1. Edit the location
  2. Update the Name field
  3. Submit
  4. Note: Assets and references to this location update automatically

Tips

  • Update photos when physical changes occur in the space
  • Keep descriptions current with any operational changes
  • Attach the latest versions of procedures and safety documents
  • Use consistent naming conventions when renaming
  • Add a comment explaining significant changes for team awareness
  • Review location information periodically for accuracy
