Asset Types
Zeltask organizes assets into categories that reflect how equipment is used in operations. Understanding these types helps you classify assets consistently and keep records organized.
Production Machinery
Equipment directly involved in processing, transforming, or handling products.

Characteristics
- Core to the production process
- Often requires regular maintenance
- Downtime directly impacts output
Examples
| Equipment | Description |
|---|---|
| Industrial mixers | Blend ingredients for production |
| Packaging machines | Fill, seal, and label products |
| Cooking kettles | Heat and process materials |
| Industrial ovens | Bake or cure products |
| Conveyor systems | Move materials through production |
Auxiliary Equipment
Equipment that supports environmental conditions, safety, sanitation, or utilities—but doesn't directly transform materials.

Characteristics
- Supports production indirectly
- Often runs continuously
- Critical for compliance and safety
Examples
| Equipment | Description |
|---|---|
| HVAC systems | Control temperature and air quality |
| Air compressors | Provide pneumatic power |
| Water treatment | Filter and treat water supply |
| Refrigeration units | Maintain cold storage |
| Electrical panels | Distribute power |
Tools and Maintenance Resources
Instruments and equipment used to diagnose, repair, or maintain other assets.

Characteristics
- Used by maintenance technicians
- Often portable or hand-held
- May require calibration
Examples
| Equipment | Description |
|---|---|
| Multimeters | Measure electrical properties |
| Torque wrenches | Apply precise torque |
| Calibration tools | Verify instrument accuracy |
| Lubrication equipment | Apply lubricants |
| Welding equipment | Join metal components |
Electronic and Digital Tools
Monitoring devices, meters, and digital hardware supporting operations, quality, and maintenance.

Characteristics
- Provide data and measurements
- Often connected to systems
- May require firmware updates
Examples
| Equipment | Description |
|---|---|
| Temperature sensors | Monitor thermal conditions |
| Humidity sensors | Track moisture levels |
| Digital scales | Measure weight precisely |
| PLCs | Control automated processes |
| Control panels | Interface with equipment |
Choosing the Right Type
When creating an asset, select the type that best matches its primary function:
| If the asset... | Choose |
|---|---|
| Directly produces or transforms product | Production Machinery |
| Supports production environment | Auxiliary Equipment |
| Is used for maintenance work | Tools & Maintenance |
| Monitors or controls processes | Electronic & Digital |
Using Types for Organization
Asset types help you:
- Filter lists — Find all assets of a specific type
- Assign teams — Route maintenance to the right specialists
- Generate reports — Analyze by equipment category
- Plan maintenance — Group similar assets for preventive schedules
